Why do I need to get the weight of my trailer?In some instances, VicRoads may need to know the weight for trailer registration. Trailers over a certain weight must be fitted with brakes. Also, your tow vehicle is licensed to tow a certain weight trailer - exceeding the manufacturer's specified weight is an offence enforced by the police.

What do I receive?You will be provided with a legal weighing docket (please see example below). This weigh ticket complies with the National Measurement Institute (NMI) regulations.

How do I know that it is accurate?The Bairnsdale Public Weighbridge is licensed and checked annually by the relevant government authority for accuracy and compliance

What is access like to the weighbridge?McMillan Street is in an industrial area and is situated close to the Princes Highway. There is easy drive through for access for articulated vehicles.
